From the Hallway to Forever
A simple hello in May 2016 became the beginning of everything.
I remember walking into the faculty that day in May 2016. Fuhad said hello to me and asked if I knew him. I was like, “Oh! Yes, you’re the popular guy from the Economics department.” We started talking from there, and at the time, I had no idea that such a simple conversation would become the beginning of our story.
From the beginning, there was something about Damilola that felt different to me. I told her confidently that she was going to be my wife — even though she definitely didn’t believe me at the time. 😂 What started as friendship grew into something much deeper, and through every season, she has remained my person, my best friend, and my pumpkin forever. ❤️
But friendship came first. We became close, spent more time together, laughed a lot, learned each other properly, and somewhere along the way friendship became love.
Over the years, we grew together through different seasons of life. Then in May 2022, Fuhad proposed, and one month later, in June 2022, we had our court wedding.
Now, after all the memories, growth, friendship and love that began with a simple conversation in a university hallway, we get to celebrate this next chapter with the people we love most on 22 May 2027.
